01 · Experience brought to AVIX

Drug-discovery judgementbuilt at global scale.

Dr David Brown brings more than 50 years of experience across pharmaceutical research, biotechnology and company building. His career includes senior work with ICI Pharmaceuticals/Zeneca, Pfizer, Glaxo Wellcome and Hoffmann-La Roche, followed by biotechnology leadership including President and Chief Executive of Cellzome AG.

At Pfizer, he was named a co-inventor on the patent for Viagra and led the programme from early research through proof of clinical efficacy in human trials. He also played a pivotal role in the discovery of Relpax, a treatment for migraine.

At Roche in Switzerland, he served as a director overseeing approximately 2,000 staff working in drug discovery across research sites in the United States, Europe and Asia. He later helped found biotechnology ventures including Crescendo Biologics and Healx — experience that gives him an unusually broad view of how scientific ideas succeed, fail and mature.

02 · T‑Booster

Pharmaceutical disciplineapplied to T‑Booster.

T‑Booster is the primary focus of Dr Brown’s AVIX advisory role. Working with Dr Md Arif Sheikh, he challenges the biological rationale, development logic and interpretation of human evidence, helping the programme move from formulation and controlled research towards responsible positioning, partnership and market preparation.

01 · QUESTION

Scientific rationale

  • Challenge the underlying biological logic.
  • Keep the product thesis science-led.
  • Separate hypothesis, signal and evidence.
02 · DEVELOP

Development strategy

  • Pressure-test formulation and evidence needs.
  • Frame the right clinical questions.
  • Keep programme planning disciplined.
03 · INTERPRET

Human evidence

  • Interpret signals within study design.
  • Distinguish encouraging findings from proof.
  • Keep conclusions tied to the data.
04 · ADVANCE

Commercial pathway

  • Bring scientific discipline into positioning.
  • Support partnership and market decisions.
  • Match commercial confidence to evidence.

03 · Green Antibiotics

Drug-discovery disciplinefor antimicrobial resistance.

Alongside T‑Booster, Dr Brown advises Dr Sheikh on Green Antibiotics — an AVIX programme exploring defined plant-derived antimicrobial combinations for animal health. His role is not to turn early laboratory results into premature claims, but to bring drug-discovery discipline to screening, evidence quality, development strategy and the next proof required.

AVIX collaboration

Green Antibiotics

Advises on scientific priorities and screening.Challenges evidence quality and development logic.Helps define a credible route to translation.

T‑Booster and Green Antibiotics are very different programmes, but Dr Brown applies the same standard to both: a scientific idea must survive disciplined development before it deserves commercial confidence.

04 · Independent AVIX role

Independent judgement.Long-term involvement.

Since 2022, Dr Brown has advised AVIX Pharmaceuticals Limited in the UK, working closely with Dr Sheikh on T‑Booster and Green Antibiotics. His contribution spans scientific strategy, development thinking, evidence interpretation, positioning and business-plan challenge.

The value of the relationship is independence as much as experience. Decades of seeing programmes progress — and seeing why others fail — allow him to challenge decisions that affect scientific credibility, development efficiency and commercial readiness. AVIX Water remains outside his advisory remit.
